Cate Rossio, LPC
Cate Rossio is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNT Dallas. Cate has experience counseling individuals, families, and groups across all age ranges but with a focus on children and teens aged 3-16.
Using play therapy, expressive arts, sand tray, and Theraplay techniques, Cate meets her clients where they are at developmentally. She encourages her clients to get curious and creative as they navigate and work through different presenting concerns, such as anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, demand avoidance, trauma, grief, and various other major life stressors. When working with children, Cate places a particular emphasis on a collaborative and integrative approach in which parents, teachers, and other professionals in her clients’ lives are included and consulted with to establish a strong network of support.
Cate is passionate about being neurodiversity-affirming, and she uses a client-centered and solution-focused modality that prioritizes safety, compassion, and acceptance to support her clients in cultivating meaningful change.
Outside of the therapy room, Cate strives to advocate for expanded access to mental healthcare. She also enjoys crocheting, volunteering, miniatures, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
