Psychiatric Services in Wylie, TX
Dr. Gardner works with patients age 16 and older who are experiencing:
We also offer treatment to those who are coping with life stressors including divorce, grief, life transitions, and relationship issues. Dr. Gardner utilizes various evidence-based treatment modalities to address your concerns, including both pharmacotherapy (medications), and psychotherapy.
Psychotherapy, or talk-therapy, is a powerful treatment for many mental complaints. It offers benefits of improved interpersonal relationships, stress reduction, and a deeper insight into one’s own life, values, goals, and development. Medications may be indicated when your mental symptoms are not responsive to psychotherapy alone. When a mental illness markedly impacts your ability to work, maintain interpersonal relationships, or properly care for your basic needs, medication may offer much-needed relief.
Dr. Gardner does not participate in any health insurance plans, Medicare, or Medicaid, which can impose restrictions on the amount of time spent on your treatment or the type of treatment provided. All fees are due at the time of service. Thus, Dr. Gardner is considered an “out of network” provider, and patients with out-of-network benefits may be entitled to reimbursement by their health insurance company. If you have questions about whether or not you are eligible for out of network reimbursement, please contact your insurance company.
All patients will be provided with a billing statement that can be submitted for this purpose, and we partner with Reimbursify to make this process extremely simple. Please let Dr. Gardner know if you plan on using Reimbursify during your appointment.

The initial evaluation will be a thorough interview allowing Dr. Gardner to understand your current concerns, your history, and your goals of treatment. Together, you and Dr. Gardner will discuss a possible treatment plan and recommendations, which may include medications, psychotherapy, or “talk therapy”, and/or other treatments. The initial visit is a consultation to determine if the clinic is a good fit for your needs and if you would benefit from continuing into treatment with Dr. Gardner. The initial consultation is not a guarantee of continued treatment.
Follow up appointments vary from 20-45 minutes as described above, and the length is determined by your individual needs and goals. The length of time between your appointments is also individually determined, and all patients are seen at least every three months by Dr. Gardner.
